Dr. Hughes is a Professor of School Psychology at Duquesne University and a Board Certified School Psychologist, licensed psychologist, APA Fellow. As a co-chair of APA Task Force on Safety of Schools, her mission is to keep students in school and out of the justice system. Dr. Hughes’ research focuses marginalized youth, addressing inequities that lead to justice involvement, and advocating for strategies that promote health, well-being, and educational success. With extensive experience as a psychologist as a psychologist, consultant, and trainer, she collaborates with diverse stakeholders to tackle complex challenges and resolve “wicked problems” requiring input from varied perspectives.
