Stacey Kern the Wyoming School Psychologist Association NASP Delegate represented our organization during the Wake-up Wyoming morning show Townhall on Education program on Friday, May 29, 2020. Stacey was able to communicate the difficulties of implementing federal IDEA guidelines, recognizing the emotional needs of students in the distance learning environment, and screening for social/emotional needs for students. The specific amount of time spent with our delegate and the counseling association highlighted specific behaviors and timelines to look for in terms of concerning behavior in response to the COVID-19 crisis. Additional participants in the town hall included the Superintendent of Public Instruction- Jillian Balow, WEA President- Kathy Vetter, and educators from around the state.
